Starlite Cafe in Vale

I am a waitress here at the cafe, and I still eat here! Especially the pie!

We love this place! Best selection of homemade pies and delicious entrees!

Fantastic food with great service. We came in with a large group and they handled it easily. All the food was delicious, coffee was excellent and I hear their pie is the best in the West so I'm going back for pie!

My wife and I stopped in. The food, service, prices, and staff are amazing. If I lived closer, we would eat there all the time, but we are out-of-towners.

If you need a place to stop between Ontario and Burns this is 100% the best place to stop. Nice little place with a homey feel. The finger steaks and chicken strips were great, and they had a fantastic variety of great food and pies if you were looking for more than a quick lunch. The staff was very friendly, the service was quick as well which overall made for a great experience.

Local flavor over a chain any day! Breakfast was cooked just right, the sausage patty flavorful. Country gravy delicious. We sat at the counter and appreciated the local / regular folks. Our waitress was perfect.

Had dinner tonight with my husband. Grace was our waitress she was funny, friendly, and gave great customer service. The food was made quickly, and tasted great. Will come back!

Great diner stop... Spanish omelette was hearty, basic eggs/sausage/hashbrowns/toast was well executed. Busy morning for Tuesday at 10:30a. Clear comradery between waitresses and locals :) Very pleasant service.

Always stop in at the Starlight when we're in the area. Either a great steak, some comfort food or a slice of pie. Love the murals depicting the early Oregon trail experience. Great people!

Good down home place with fresh made meals and pie. Very friendly place and reasonably priced.

The breakfast was ok. My waffle was cold, and it took forever to get our food and ot wasn't that busy. Got pie to go, and the chocolate cream was horrible. Tasted old, and the crust was all soggy. The waitresses all acted like they were either nervous, or didn't want to be there. Hardly any smiles..Just a disappointment all around.

Breakfast any time of day, home made fresh biscuits, and clean and charming with vintage decor, delicious omlette and biscuits and gravy! Will definitely eat here again next time I pass through.

Great diner! Very homey atmosphere. Our server Casie was very sweet and attentive, and my coffee was never empty! Huge portions for a decent price. The homemade pies looked delicious, but I was so full from my meal I didn't have room for dessert.

The pie and milkshake were great and the wait staff did a great job, however....There was a big message across the menu that said because they had to pay their staff more of a living wage they could not offer a Senior Discount.....this is unfair to both the staff and to seniors. I will never stop here again....there are plenty of choices in Vale. Go to a place that helps staff and those on a small budget.

Very bad service. My wife and I sat down and were completely ignored for 15 minutes at which time we got up and walked out. Very disappointed. This was on May 4th in between 11:30 and 12.

My son and I were on a motorcycle trip at 8am. It was 26* outside. We decided to stop in for breakfast. Amazing folks with the best food! They let us warm up for two hours! Thanks. Jim n Tanner.

On a bike ride across the country, we stopped here as the sun was setting. Our server was gracious and awesome, the chicken fried steak was delicious and the looming eastern Oregon desert in front of us seemed a little less intimidating. Classic.

Homemade pie and fresh cod fish and chips. Need I say more? Too bad Sept 29th is the last day before a new restaurant move into the building :(
